From a single block of 35-year old Chenin Blanc, made very simply in the new wave minimal interventionist style, so that the fruit offers comes straight out in the glass. Swartland and especially its Chenin (and also Syrah) is becoming increasingly fashionable and this up and coming producer is definitely one to follow. His Chenin is a thirst quenching apéritif, light but energetic - to be enjoyed with crudités, salads, white fish and shellfish, all simply grilled and unadorned to allow the fruits of the wine to lift the dish.
Beautifully fresh and pure, with notes of pear and apples on the nose. It is pleasantly silky and textured on the palate, with a great acid backbone and minerality on the finish.
